If you recall, there was some question about our seeding in The Tournament. Having won the Big Ten, it seemed we should have been seeded higher than #2… Aww, a minor issue. It wouldn’t matter; we’d play whoever ended up on the floor at the same time as us.
Here’s how that one went…
Good Thursday to all fellow Spartan fans
Ready your voices and warm up your hands
To clap and to cheer, we love this time of year
Hey, why aren’t we all wearing white headbands??
Let’s bask for a moment. Doesn’t it feel nice?
We won the Big Ten by beating them thrice
Now that’s enough celebrating! Our team’s laid awake waiting
In the trainer’s room covered in ice
And so as we wake up again today
We’re all getting ready for the Spartans to play
The craziness starts and the kids leave their hearts
All over the floor of parquet
All of a sudden, we’re in this new week
The Madness has started and it’s not for the meek
Suddenly we’re back it’s
time to do your brackets
And see how much havoc one team’s loss can wreak
Our seeding really doesn’t make a darn bit of sense
But it matters not, once the games commence
Today’s against Bradley, we’ll play them gladly
And we won’t be one whit less intense
We’re a second seed, are you serious right now?
We’re Big Ten Champs, and we’re recognized how??
We’ll play Bradley’s best on only four days of rest
That’s all the tourney’s snub would allow
There is a chance though, we won’t have to play Duke
If some Cinderella team wins on a fluke
We can always hope, but “whatever”; we’ll cope
And Cassius will beat ‘em with a juke
Welcome to the Madness, it’s upon us, folks
with the heart palpitations it all evokes
Let’s keep a sharp eye, to see Waffle Guy
and appreciate Matt’s three-point strokes
Good luck to our guys, let’s go get a win
One game at a time, then we’ll do it again
We’ll all sing along as they play our fight song
No matter what time zone we’re in!
Spartan fans all bleed green through and through
