The Sweet Sixteen
Here’s a thought for this Thursday
There are sixteen teams, eight games to play
Today there’ll be four, and tomorrow still more
Then we’ll regroup and sort out the fray
You know if all the Ones and Twos win
History will shout out over the din
That’d be a date in all the Elite Eight
It’s never happened before, and may never agin!
FSU we don’t really care for
But after tonight they won’t be anymore
Gonzaga’s gotta win! They really should be in
a spot in the Final Four
Why is it no one knows that team
Until the season goes to extreme?
Gonzaga’s only known for the basketball it’s shown
But they DO have a side that’s academe!
And then there’s Purdue, who plays Tennessee
The Vols are seeded two, and the Boilermakers, three
I don’t think we care who ends up winning there
But tonight it’s the second game you’ll see
Then Texas Tech plays Michigan
(And we don’t want to see them again)
A blue loss’d be fantastic, not to be sarcastic
but we played M enough in the Big Ten!
Then UVA plays Oregon
It’d be nice if a Pac Twelve team won
they’re seeded twelfth of all, it’s an order that is tall
cuz the University of Virginia’s seeded One.
So tonight’s games oughta be quite a sight
And here’s to the Spartans tomorrow night
Let’s beat LSU! Now I need help from you
