We played Ohio State on March 15.
That evening, it occurred to me that we had Loyered up. Some of you may remember. It went something like this…
We Loyered Up Today
What a way to start the day
MSU putting the Bucks away
Nine in the morning, with very little warning
about who we were going to play
That’s how tournaments go:
When your team is called you gotta show
Now Nebraska is playing, and Wisconsin is praying
Both want to play us tomorrow
But today is about today
(That sounds really lame, let me say)
If you saw the game, you’d say the same
And Foster Loyer was the man of the day
Flagrant fouls early
Each team a little surly
Ward got one, then so did Wesson
But Izzo kept our team from getting squirrely
For State it’s all about Family
(And today Foster Loyer shooting the three)
As Cassius rested, Loyer bested
the Buckeyes entirely
At one point we had a twenty-point lead
That’s to be expected from a Number One seed
But somehow today, they chipped it away
But we won, and that’s all we need
So now it’s on to game number two
I don’t know who it’s against, do you?
It’s the Big Ten Tourney, gonna be quite a journey
