When Cash hit the rafter with the basketball after
the game all you heard was the roar!
Now, you might’ve seen some of this before
(But it feels so good to say it some more!)
To recap that game (oh, we’ll never be the same!)
And we’ll never forget the score (well it was 68 – 67, in case you’ve forgotten)
Remember McQuaid’s “Spin of the Day”?
There simply was nothing that Duke could say
They called the game an upset, but we’re not done yet
Next we’ve got Texas Tech to play!

One of the sweetest shots he’s ever made
It wasn’t rehearsed, and his back was reversed!
The “McQuwhirl” is even better than his fade!
Then when Kenny Goins shot that three
He put us on top permanently
He had been good all day, but with that one play
he sealed our win in the tourney!
And then “X” also impresses us
Just doing his thing without a fuss
Unsung too much, but we all know he’s clutch
And the cheers for him are euphonious
Spartan fans worldwide will view
this game and I know as well as you
From near and from far, from our homes (or a bar)
We’ll be cheering for our MSU
This game’s the biggest we’ve had in a while
The way we got here, the passion, the style
We’re proud of our team, may they reign supreme
