We are in the Elite Eight
Eight teams left and we are one, boy this tourney has been fun
Let’s get ready for the game and say “Go State!”
Now the last game really showed
That our team will not be slowed
When our veterans are weary, tired, sore and eyes are bleary
We’ve got backups who will keep us on the road
We’ve seen a lot from Freshman Aaron
The whole world has seen him darin’
to chat back with Izzo when
the Coach was having words, and then
come back stronger (maybe due to all the swearin’!)
And then the best dancer in town
Is a freshman named Gabe Brown
His ‘Go Crazy Stupid’ dance you see (that’s what it’s called apparently)
is so fun to watch it brings the whole house down
Lest ye think it’s “just a dance”
Or without import, perchance
It’s on that the whole team feeds, and the energy it breeds
beats by far a kick by Izzo in the pants
So as we prepare for Duke
(The best word that rhymes is “puke”)
Zion needs some foul trouble, maybe we can team him double
and Ward can block his shots with strong rebuke
Our main concern is Zion
(If you doubt it you’d be lyin’)
Let’s hope they’ve healed that hand of Ward’s, cuz we need him on the boards
to be inside doing serious denyin’
We just need to play our game
and no injuries we’ll blame
cuz we’ve often showed before it doesn’t matter if we’re sore;
Our Spartans play their hearts out just the same
